  1. This story is supposed to be true and it is not so very long since it occurred.
There were two men quarrying stones on a hill near Malinhead.
They were working at a distance apart from each other when one of them was coming home to his dinner he met the other going to work again. He asked him if he was sick when he went home so early and the reply was that he was neither sick nor sore.
Both of them came home early in the afternoon and brought their tools with them. A man who was driving out his cows met them and asked them if there was anything wrong. They said that they would not sink a spade any more as they did not need to do so.
They told their fathers when they reached home that they heard music in the rocks and would not go back again.
From that on they had always plenty money. It is said that they must have found a crock of gold.
