  1. There was once a boy who was hired in a house. One day he was herding in a field and one of the cows ran away. It ran and ran till at last she went down below Malin Head Chapel. A rock opened and the cow went in. The boy went home to his master. His master scolded him. Then he went to the rock and called to give him back his cow. A voice answered "go home, your cow is in the byre". The man went home but his cow never gave any more milk.
