  1. When Denis Doherty and his wife Mary lived in Leiter there was a little fort at the foot of their farm. Every night the fairies danced and sang until they would be tired.
    One day a little woman came to their house and asked for a can of meal. Mary gave it to her. She thanked Mary and went her way.
    Mary followed her to the door and when she went outside she disappeared. Mary came into the house and told her husband what had happened.
    Mary and Dennis waited patiently for three days to see if they would see her coming again. Three days had almost elapsed when the little woman returned with the meal. She came to the door and knocked. Mary said "Come in"
