  1. Once upon a time there lived in Broadlands a woman who had a lot of servants.
    They never used to wait in the house in the night-time although she had a lot of servants. One day she asked them why weren't they waiting in the house in the night and they said that there was a ghost in the sleeping-room.
    She said that she would wait up and see the ghost.
    The first night she waited up until quarter to twelve and then she fell asleep. The second night she waited up until ten minutes to twelve. The third night she waited up until twelve o'clock and she saw a priest coming up the stairs. She spoke to him and said.
    "Who are you or where did you come from." "I am glad you spoke to me because you have relivered me for [?]
