  1. There is a fort in Ráthláwn near Castlebar it is not built with stone, but there is a big sod ditch built around it, and bushes grown on top of the ditch. It is built in Pat Mc Donnell's field. It is not known who built that Fort or who liven in it.

  2. There is a fort over in Rahins and it is built of a bank of soil. There is a lot of Raths and Forts around this district belonging to the Kings and Queens of long ago. All those Raths and Forts are now filled in from age.
