  1. Just past the Boot Inn at the Lease Cross there is an old moate. It so happened that a native of the place was walkin' home one night. He was very tired an' sat down on a bank near the moat.
    He was just drowsing off to sleep when 'e heard strange music. He look up and saw many fairies dancing around in a ring.
    He crept up to the top of the moat thinkin' of the nice crock o' gold he'd have.
    Just then, one o' the fairies saw him and they all disappeared on sight.
