  1. Netmending
    Netmending is one of the very simplest works of Howth. The needle is called a Netting Nuala. The thread is a special kind, it is called net twine. The threads around the hole are all tied and drawn together. If the needle gets empty you must start winding up the thread around the little knob inside the needle. Fishermen's wives are able to work more quickly than anybody else at mending the nets.
