It is said that the days around Whit are very unlucky.
No person ventures to go to any races, boating of pleasure of any kind fearing an accident might happen on or around Whit Sunday and the Bank Holiday.
The first Monday after Christmas is considered very lucky. It is called Hansel Monday. If people transact any business on that day and receive silver in
