    He heard them from a man named Carty who died about 50 years ago.
    Potatoes is good for a black eye.
    Cure for a headache is vinegar and brown paper. Salt and water is for a sore throat.

    There were two neighbours once upon a time.

    There were two neigbours once upon a time. And one of them died. The other woman went out for sticks one day. She settled [?] the sticks three times and they fell, she said 'O my loss." When she looked up she saw the woman that was dead up in the tree and she said "tell the poor son not the rich
