- Blanchardstown has had associations now perhaps forgotten.
At the period of the erection of the the Church The Carmelite Convent of the Incarnation (now at Hamton Drumcondra) stood near by, obviously a foundation from St Joseph's Convent Ranelagh. It's first Prioress was Mother Mary Francis de Sales (Stuart) who, in, 1823 at the latter convent had been vouchsaved a miraculous restoration to health, attested upon a memorial slab in the convent chapel Blachardstown where she died and was interred 1832.
