- The Stray Sod:
Situated in one of the fields of Macetown the property of Miss Ellen Carr. It is said that if a person walks on this sod they will go astray. Long ago men used to work in Macetown and one winter's evening as night was falling one of the men was returning home from work and unfortunately he stepped on the sod an dhe could not find his way out of the field. He walked round and round the field and could find no way of getting out of it so he lay down and fell asleep. At daybreak he was awakened by the noises of dogs. He found that he had been asleep beside the entrance into the field.The Hungry Sod:
