A stocking full of salt tied around your neck is a cure for sore throat.
A stocking taken warm from the foot and tied around the neck three nights in succession is an in cure for sore throat.
If you put a God's horse (which resembles a hairy brown caterpillar) in a bag and tie it round your neck it is supposed to cure a sore throat.
