  1. There are a good many old roads in this district. The names of some of them are the Whitestown Road, Old Road, Channel Road, Spout Road, Skerries Road, Sandy Road and Kilbush Road. The Whitestown Road starts at the Girls School and continues to the station. The Old Road starts at the back of Murtagh's public house and runs till it reaches the Whitestown Road. This road was used before the Whitestown Road was made. The Skerries Road starts in Lower Main Street and runs to Skerries.
