  1. "Travelling Folk" still call at our door and the same people have been doing so for many years. They are very poor.
They used to make tins, cans, laces, brooches and saucepans and sometimes they buy the articles and they go about the houses selling them. Sometimes the people buy and sometimes they dont.
The travellers are never welcome. They sleep at Rogerstown and remain for three or four days and they also sleep at Balally for a few nights and they go to different places in our district each day. They beg their food from the people and bring it away with them.
