    The Monastery at Holmpatrick
    (Continued)
The Holmpatrick Institution was one of those suppressed by Henry VIII, in 1537, and in the same year the last Prior, Peter Mann, died. A nominal succession of Priors was continued but the monastery itself relapsed into decay, and the Church was converted for Protestant worship by Queen Elizabeth.
In this connection it is interesting to recall that only twenty-nine attended Divine Service "all the rest are recusants."
