    Care of our farm animals.
    (Skerries Co. Dublin)
Great care is taken with farm animals about our district, the cow especially. She obtains great care and the best of food. The horse too is taken good care of. Many old customs are known about our district such as hanging a sheaf of oats on the cow shed manger. This is done so that the cows will milk well. The fowl too are taken good care of. When a hen is being set on a clutch of eggs each egg is marked with a cross.
