  1. During the long summer days little girls spent hours making flower necklaces. Those necklaces are called daisy chains. They are made by drawing a needle and thread through the centre of the daises. Long ago the children used to make furs from the woodbine.
    They used to make baskets from the long rushes that grow in bogs.
    The boys used to make pop-guns from the crann truim. They used also make spoons from that tree for eating eggs on Easter Sunday. They used to make the heads of pipes from walnuts and the reeds from the wildwoodbine tree.
