If a man was going to the fair with some cattle and met a red-headed woman on the road he would return home again or else some misfortune would be fall him before he returned home.
If a red-headed woman would be the first visitor in the New Year some misfortune would happen to somebody in that house during the year.
If a stray black cat comes into a house the people always keep him as he is sure to bring good luck.
