  1. One night people from Ardvarney were coming from visiting. When they were coming down at Flanagans [?] they saw this man coming they thought he was one of the neighbours and they started to walk middling fast. When they came near him they saw he was not [?] right man. He had a check apron on him &[?] was walking along the top of the alt. The people were getting afraid and they began to run. One of them lost her shawl but she did not wait to get it. She got it the next morning. The next day they looked on the alt and they could see his tracks.
