  1. An man in my District told me that in Skirdagh a crowd of boys were coming from a dance when they heard hammering amongst the bushes. They said to one another that they would go to see who was hammering. So they went and who did they see but a little man with a red hat and red clothes and they said it was a leipreachan. So they crept up behind him and caught hold of him and they said they would not let him go till he would give them a bag of gold. The leipreachan stood silent
