    Wakes
    When a person is dead, the first thing they do is to close their eyes and their mouth, and they wash them after, and they put them over-board, that is they get two tables and cover them with a sheet and they put a pillow at the head for the corpse to lie down on it. They put a habit on them, and they tie their two big toes together in order to keep their feet together, and then they say the Rosary.
    The nail sheets around the wall and around the bed, they put a white quilt over the dead person and they turn it up on his feet, and they join their hands, and put a pair of Rosary beads in their hands. They get two tables and they leave blessed pictures and candles the table, they keep them in for two nights, and on the third day they take them out and they leave the coffin on two chairs and they shake holy-water on the people and on the coffin, and the last drop on the house, and when the coffin is
