  1. There are four holy wells in our district. There are three of them at the Strand Head about nineteen or twenty yards out in the tide.
    The other is between Charlie McDaid's house and Eugene Doherty's near the crossroads in Templemoyle.
    Two of the wells that are at the Strand Head boil up and are fit for using. The other well does not boil up from the sand and is not fit for using.
    It is said that a woman washed her child in this well. The child had some disease and this stopped the well from boiling.
    It is also said that it was the Blessed Virgin that blessed these wells.
