When the cat sits with her back to the fire it is a sign that a storm is coming.
When the sea gulls fly circling around we say it is a sign of bad weather.
When the wild geese come we say a storm is near at hand.
When the wind roars in the chimney and when the fire reflects outside the window we take these for signs of coming storms.
A far off ring round the moon tells us to expect a storm before long.
A ring near the moon is taken to indicate a far off storm.
