  1. In ancient times in Ireland the people of every village had their own weaver, tailor, dressmaker and shoemaker.
    In ancient times in our district there was one of each of these tradespeople but there is not one of them to be found it in or even in the neighbouring townland nowadays.
    There was one dressmaker in this townland but she has stopped work now as she is getting too old and cannot get trade. Her name is Miss Fulton. She learned her trade from a friend in Carndonagh. About twenty years ago there was an old shoemaker in this townland who made and repaired shoes for all in it. His name was Mr. N Doherty.
    There was also a weaver in Knockbrack who made cloth out of home-spun yarn. His name was Mr. E McLaughlin. In the time of the weavers the farmers kept large flocks of sheep. When the wool was shorn of the sheep it was washed and left out in the
