    A drop of blood from a (?) cures whooping cough.
    (2) When anyone has mumps, the son or daughter of a (?) should put the horse's halter on him and lead him across a river. This is said to effect a cure.
    (3) The seventh daughter of the seventh son can cure the King's evil.
    (4) A cure for warts :- count the warts. Put a stone for every wart in a bag. Leave it at a crossroads. Whoever picks up the bag will get all the warts and they will leave you.
    (5) Another cure for warts:- Pick a snail from the potato pit. Rub it on the warts. Pin it to a tree. When the snail has withered away the warts will be gone.
    Another version of this says :-
    stick a pin through the snail and throw the snail and pin away.
    (6) The water in which potatoes were boiled is good for rheumatism.
