  1. (1) If you go out with an engagement ring on on Christmas night you will hear the ghosts counting the stones.
    (2) If you are engaged to be married and go out on New Years night the fairies will follow you till the end of your journey shouting "She'll (he'll) be married before a fortnight.
    (3) "Marry in May, you'll rue the day"
    (4) The bride should wear "Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue" for luck.
    (5) It said to be unlucky for two sisters to marry on the same day.
    (6) It is also unlucky for two sisters to marry two brothers.
    (7) It is unlucky for any member of the wedding party to take ill before the ceremony.
