  2. One night a thief broke into a house. He was getting up on a chair to get the shelf when the man of the house stepped in. This thief was known to be the worst known to be the worst thief in the Parish.
    When the man saw the thief, he said "Thirs' a devil in 'ye' as big as a dog," and the thief said excuse me this time but if you cut a piece off my finger you will get peace at night
