  1. There was once upon a time a man who wanted to learn to steal. And he said to a man would he teach him to steal.
    The first man went into a shop and asked for a watch. The boy in the shop took down a box of watches, some were too dear for the thief and some too cheap. The thief was putting the watches up his sleeve as the shop-boy was taking them down from the shelf, so the thief said he would buy none and walked away.
    The second thief went into the shop and asked the shop boy did he not see that man stealing the watches as he was taking them down from the shelf. And the shop boy said that he would run for
