  1. About fifty years ago there came a man to a house in this parish of Culdaff. The house they told him to sleep in was haunted. Every man that slept in it never came out alive in the morning. This old man got power from the devil over anything that tormented him.
    He had a bag and he was told to say "bag-swallow-you." When he was going into the hous at night a gander caught him by the leg and he said "bag swallow you" and it swallowed the gander.
    At 12 o'clock he started plucking the gander, he heard a noise, bit by bit it came down beside him and it began kicking him.
