  1. Once upon a time there was a very rich man who lived in a house beside a plantation. He left and went to England and sent a letter to a man in Carn to come and take care of the house.
    This man was not long until he was friendly with his neighbours an he used to go at night to a house a mile away. One moonlight night he was going on his "ceilidhe" he saw in the shadows of the hedge a black hound and its eyes blazing like fire.
    The man was not afraid so he went over and touched it on the head and it disappeared. The man
