    a plant in the bogs. The shoemaker too, he came and stayed and got his "meat" But then boots were a luxury.
    There are no sayings or tradition connected with tailors or tailoring in our district. Here are some of the gear a tailor uses - cloth thread, measuring tape, buttons scissors and a large flat iron called the goose.
    Shirts are still made in the homes and are indeed to a large extent. They buy the cloth out of the shops to make the shirts.
    In olden times the people used to make shirts out of their own flax when spun and wove into linen
    Socks were and are yet knitted locally to a large extent. The thread was spun in their own homes in former times but not now
