  1. This is one of the games played by the girls of Moville long ago on Hollow Eve night long ago.
    Someone got three bowls. In one she put clean water. In another she put dirty water and the third was left empty. Then a girl's eyes were blindfolded and she had to put her hand on some one of the bowls. If she put her hand on the bowl of clean water that as a sign that she would get married to a nice clean-looking man, but if she put her hand on the bowl of dirty water that was a sign that she would get a dirty-looking man and if she put her hand on the empty bowl that was a sign that she would get no man at all.
