- (continued from previous page)man. Some of the fairies hated the Princess, because she was proud. When this man was returning home from fishing he had to cross a narrow glen. The fairy Princess planned to say at this glen and, when the fisherman would pass by, she would get him and take him to Fairyland. Some of her enemies came and told the fisherman what the princess had planned to do. They also told him if he wished to escape the snare of the Princess, to strike her once and she would die, but on no account to strike her twice for she would come to life again. The following night, when the man was going through the glen, the fairy princess was waiting for him. He struck her and she fell dead. Some friends of the princess came and told the man to strike her again, but the man would not. In one moment all disappeared and the fisherman was left standing alone.
