    One evening as I wandered by the setting of the sun, to view the scenes of my youthful days, when my heart was light and young.

    The Convent stands in grandeur,
    surrounded by a wall,
    Which shall ever be remembered by
    the Rev Father Paul.

    The little town of Carn which you all
    know well,
    Below it stands the Chapel with its
    charming little bell,
    Outside it stands the Colgan Hall and
    there it shall remain,
    It serves as a monument to the Rev Father

    Next I see the Workhouse in the place
    called the Old Mill.
    And from dear old Ballyloskey,
    You can view the Barrack Hill.

    There I plucked the pretty primroses,
    In the happy days of youth,
    But now my youthful days, are gone
