    In his own words:-
    I was a little lad hired at the time, very nearly fifty years ago now, with a Mickey Mac Eleney, Cashel, who then owned the place since bought up by the Gowan's. I was out herding sheep this day, and young as I was, I was wondering why a holly tree was left growing in the centre of the tillage field at the back of the house. "It's a wonder to me Mickey", says I "that you did not think of rooting up that tree that is in the way of the plough". What is it left for?
