- In our house here in Linsfort is a pair of prayer beads which were made or in use in the year 1817 or about thirty years before the famine. There are 36 small beads on a cord and 4 big ones. There is a cross on them which is made of wood and the image of our Lord is carved on it. Also is the date 1817 cut out on the back of it. The beads belonged to my great grandfather.
- This is a solid log-oak char yet in the house of Owen Kelly, Namfrus, Bunarand. Stools and beds were made of bog oak.
- People who walked barefoot used wear sock legs on the legs to keep the legs from b eing scourged. Young boys never wore shoes.
