- 1. The strongest man in this parish of Desertegney was said to be Philip Doherty, Hillside. He could carry two sixteen stone bags of corn on his back.

To Margaret Diver, Carva, Linsfort PO, Buncrana, Donegal - 2. In the townland of Sharagore an old woman named Ann Wanish kept a little shop. Often she walked from Sharagore to Derry carrying six dozen of shirts on her back. She used start off early in the morning with her burden of shirts and arrive back at Sharagore at night with her burden of goods.
A dozen of shirts weighed about a stone. The distance from Sharagore to Derry is about sixteen E. miles.
Her descendants now live at Aughaweel, near Linsfort. McLaughlin is the family name. Phil Wanish is the distinguishing name.Given by Mrs. Doherty (age 79), Carva, Linsfort, Buncrana
