  1. The castle which is situated some yards from ODoherty's keep was built by Colonel Vaughan who was in charge of the soldiers when Father Hegarty was beheaded. It was built in 1718.
    There are many stories told about this castle. It is said that no person every left it in daylight. Each dweller had what was called a moonlight flitting.
