  1. St Mary's Church Cockhill was built one hundred and two years ago.
    The new Cemetery ground was called Ardee. Long ago at certain times a car cocks were brought to the grounds where Mrs Rose Mac Carron - locally called Bif Rose) lives.
    These were put to fight and that was why all about that place was called Cockhill.
