  1. Long ago when the people were going to the fair they would out their shoes on their shoulders and carry them until they came to the town.
    Then they would put them on, they would take them off when they came out of the town at night. They would be preparing for the fair weeks before it, and saving money, and when they would go in they would buy as much goods as would do them to the next fair day.
