  1. Long ago when the fairies were going about through Ireland they lived in Holly Bushes - which are now called gentle bushes.
    There is one of these bushes in Mr Doherty's (Jinny) field in Ballymagan, and he is ploughing round it at the present, but he never touches it.
    There is another one of these bushes in my father's farm, and it is conveniently close to the well, and it is said by the old people that it was made by the fairies for their own use.
