    a branch from a bootry tree, hollytree or a round tree for they say there would be no butter on the milk. This superstition remains among some people to the present day. When the old people were churning they put a piece of iron under the churn because they said they would have no butter. The old people would not refuse a beggar or poor person while churning because they said the person would take away their luck. When an old person has a heifer he puts a silver coin into her first milk so as she would always give plenty of milk and plenty butter on her milk. When a heifer has her first calf the old people tie a piece of a blessed candle to her tail with a piece red cloth and let it stay on till she shakes it off and it is
