    Why does a hen pick a pot?
    Because she cannot lick it.
    What can go through the thickest wood without moving a twig? An echo.
    A roomful and a kitchenful and you could not lift a spoonful. Smoke.
    If you got up on a donkey, what would you get down on? A goose.
    What turns without moving? Milk.
    What grows in the wood and sounds in the town and earns its master a pound? A fiddle.
    Why is a salt herring like a raincoat?
    Because they both keep you dry.
