    A poker and shovel cost 2/6 what would a ton of coal come to?
    Ashes.
    Round as a thimble and tailed like a rat, you may guess for ever but you will never guess that?
    A pipe.
    Opens like a barn door, shuts like a trap. You may guess forty things but you will never gues that?
    Your moth.
    I have a wee house as big as a mouse,
    It has more windows than the king's house?
    A thimble.
    What would you do to save your soul?
    Walk on your heels.
    Why are stockings like mice?
    Because they run very quickly into holes.
    As I went up the long lane I met my aunty Jane.
    With iron nose and timber toes upon my word she could scare the crows?
    A gun.
