  1. Potatoes are sown on Mr Chambers land. He sows six acres. The ploughman prepare the ground. The land is ploughed and then manured It is then skealed (?) in the drills. There it gets topdressed with artificial manure. The potatoes are then layed and the drills are closed again with a drill plough. When the potatoes are about three weeks in the ground they are rolled with a drill roller. Wherever the potatoes are ready for hoeing they are grobed with a grober. They are hoed with a hand hoe. They are then harrowed with a drill harrow and moulded up again and are sprayed twice or three times to keep off the blight. When the potatoes are dug they are put into pits and then into lofts and then walled.
