  1. Potatoes are grown on Mr. Neely's farm. Six or seven acres of land is sown under potatoes each year.
    Sometimes some of the crop varies.
    William Doherty is the ploughman and he prepares the ground. The first thing is done with the ground is:- it is ploughed, then harrowed, then the manure is scaled and then the crop is sown. The potatoes are sown in drills. A plough is used. Wooden ploughs were never used.
    Mr. Neely never helps anybody.
