  1. One time there lived a man in Meencarragh. He had a farm down in Foxhall. His servant-boy stayed in Foxhall. One night he was going down and he saw a boy walking in front of him. He thought it was his servant boy and he called to him but the boy walked on. He ran and caught him and the boy changed into a dog. When he caught the dog it changed into a light and the light went over Treankeel Hill.

    Bhí fear ina chómhnuidhe i dteach mór aon uair amháin. Bhí fear d'a chineadh 'na chómhnuidhe san teach ceadna tamall fada roimhe sin agus mharbh sé fear éile. Níor luighe aon duine 'sa seomra o rinneadh an dún mharbhadh ann go dtí go dtáinig an fear seo chuig an teach.
    Oidhche amháin chuaidh sé isteach sa seomra agus luigh sé ann. Thuit sé in a chodladh roimh i bhfad agus rinne sé broingloideach. Shíl sé go dtáinig beirt fear isteach 'sa seomra agus gur thoisigh
