  1. St Bridget's feast falls on the first of February They make crosses on that night. They cut the rushes before sunset. They have to be cut with a hook. The man of the house cuts them and ties them in a bunch and leaves them out side the door. When bed-time comes they have a great feast. The make tea on that night and the have all kind of bread. When tea is over
