  1. Once upon a time there was living in Mullaghanety a woman balled Brigid Kelly who had a holly bush growing in the middle of her field. At Christmas she went to the bush for holly to decorate the house. She brought it home and put it up. When she had it up the wind rose and at last it was shaking the whole house and lifting the roof. The woman took down the holly and left it back on the bush and when she came back everything was quiet.
The bush is there yet and every branch that falls from it is thrown under it.
