The Killy gordon forge is worked by two brothers named Kelly. Their father was a shoemaker.
The Gillespies of the Crossroads have been smiths for generations. Old people remember three generations in that forge.
The forge owned by Murray was formerly owned by the Gillespies too.
Proctor's forge at Meenloughan belonged to a family named Robinson. The Robinsons must have been blacksmiths for generations.
